Aidan Moudry Head Coach

I’m Aidan Moudry, and I coach with a simple goal: build confident swimmers and an even stronger team culture. I bring high energy and clear expectations to the pool deck, and I care a lot about helping athletes improve the right way; strong fundamentals, consistent effort, and real confidence when it’s time to race. I want every swimmer to feel challenged, supported, and proud to wear Harpers Mill colors. For the 2026–2027 season, I’ll also be the newest addition to Quest Swimming as a coach in their Novice Groups. I’m excited to keep growing as a coach while helping younger swimmers master the basics, build great habits, and fall in love with the sport. That year-round coaching experience will directly strengthen what we do at Harpers Mill—especially when it comes to teaching technique, building confidence, and creating swimmers who are prepared under pressure. I can’t wait to lead Harpers Mill Swim Team into one of the most anticipated seasons yet as we jump from C Division to A Division. This is a big moment for our program, and I’m ready for the challenge. We’re going to raise the standard, bring a relentless team mindset, and prove we belong with the best. I’m ready to show everyone they ain’t like us.

Sophia
Sophia Schorr Assistant Coach

Hi! I’m Sophia Schorr, and this is my fourth summer coaching at Harper’s Mill. I have been teaching swim lessons for six years, and was a swimmer for seventeen years before I retired this past February. I swam at a YMCA and summer league level from age four to fourteen before joining a club team. I swam for four years at the University of Lynchburg, where my love for swimming only grew. My passion is teaching, and I am about to complete my degree to become a biology teacher! My goal as a coach is simple: to build strength and confidence in my swimmers through a trusting and individual relationship with each of them. I have loved every moment with this team, and cannot wait to be a part of another fantastic year with the Manta Rays!

Sidney Kaufman Assistant Coach

Hi! I’m Sidney Kaufman, and I’m so excited to be coaching my first season with the Harpers Mill Manta Rays this summer. I’m currently a freshman swimmer at George Mason University, and before college I swam year-round with SwimRVA and was a captain on the Midlothian High school team. I have been teaching swim lessons for the past three years, and I’m excited to continue growing in the sport as I step into my coaching role. During my first season swimming at the Division 1 level, I learned how important a good team atmosphere is when it comes to swimming fast, and I hope to bring some of that fun energy to Harpers Mill. Swimming has taught me discipline, resilience, and the importance of showing up ready to work every single day, and I bring that same mindset to the pool deck as a coach. I’m high energy and believe the best teams are built by working hard, swimming fast, and still having fun along the way. My goal is to help every swimmer build confidence, sharpen their skills, push past their limits, and feel proud to be part of the Manta Rays this season — because when you love what you’re doing, the fast swims follow.

Carter Hinton Assistant Coach

Hello! I’m Carter Hinton, and I am beyond excited to start my first season with Harpers Mill this summer. I am currently a freshman at James Madison University, and I am a part of the club swim team. Before JMU I was a competitive swimmer at Quest Swimming, a captain my junior and senior year for Clover Hill High School swim team and have been part of a summer swim team since I was 5. I was a coach for 3 years at Brandermill and have taught lessons at Quest for 4 years now, as well as private lessons at my previous team. Instructing and coaching have really grown my love for swim by working with swimmers of all ages and helping them improve both in and out of the water. Through my experience, I’ve seen how powerful a positive team atmosphere can be. When swimmers feel supported and enjoy being at practice, they gain confidence, push themselves more, and ultimately perform better. I cannot wait to bring this energy to Harpers Mill this summer. Go Manta Rays!

Cole Nelson Part-Time Assistant Coach

Hi! My name is Cole Nelson, and I’m so excited to be coaching my first season with the Harpers Mill Manta Rays this summer. I’m currently a junior at Douglas Freeman High School, where I’ve had the opportunity to grow a lot as both a swimmer and a teammate.

I’m an All-American and a 2x state champion, and this past year I was ranked #1 in Virginia for the class of 2027. I specialize as not only an elite distance swimmer but also in sprint events. Last year I qualified for an international meet in London, which required placing top 2 in an event at an elite meet in Orlando, Florida. That experience was especially exciting because I had the chance to race against Olympians and compete at a really high level.

Swimming has taught me discipline, consistency and how to push through challenges and I try to bring that same mindset to everything I do. I'm super pumped to have an amazing season and can’t wait for the future of the Manta Rays!
